At the heart of the Parnall Aircraft Company is historic aircraft production. We specialise in manufacturing new models of the Spitfire, Second World War’s most iconic aircraft, as close to how it left the Vickers Supermarine factory, as possible. Our area of expertise, in both research and construction, is the fleet known as the Presentation Spitfires: aircraft financed by the fundraising efforts of communities, individuals, towns, organisations and expatriates during the war.
Now nearing completion, our static Vickers Supermarine Spitfire MkV is a new construction of the Spitfire BL709, also known as the ‘St Ives Presentation Spitfire.’ The aircraft, originally constructed in 1942, was the result of two years of fundraising in the St Ives community as part of the Commonwealth-wide initiative known as the Spitfire Fund.
Have you ever dreamed of being an engineer, or enjoy building small models at home? We invite you to come and spend a half day with our aeronautical engineering team, in our hangar based in the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall.
Immerse yourself in the history of spitfires with a guided tour of the impressive restoration projects. The Parnall Aircraft Experience allows you to get up close to this British icon of design engineering, making it the perfect day out for anyone interested in aviation history and the skills needed to recreate a Vickers Supermarine Spitfire.
